Fishing Art

Fishpond BoulderAs keen anglers, we love to share our passion, especially when it is a brand we can relate with and love. As such, we see anglers all over the world, dressed up to kill. Casting shirts and pants, luggages, adorn with logos from famous brands like SAGE, GLOOMIS, ABEL, DAIWA, SHIMANO etc…

These companies must certainly thank us for the advertising we are doing for them. And they know it too! Which is why more and more companies are producing items not just for fishing but also for work, home, pets etc… etc…

Recently I bought a working briefcase from Fish Pond, the brand that produces some of the best and nicest fishing luggage around. It looked awesome (picture on right) and has a pocket for just about everything. In fact, there are so many pockets, sometimes, I can’t find my stuff… but that’s ok, I still love it! They certainly produce some of the best looking luggages around.

OK, back to the topic of Fishing Art! Well, as more companies recognised the free advertising they are getting, some are getting the services of local artists to design items like pillows, mugs, curtains, cushions for the home as well as clothing pieces such as T-Shirts etc… Just witness some of these on the catalog pages of famous brands like Orvis, LLBean etc… Some of these are well known artist like Guy Harvey, but many are budding artists, making their mark in a very competitive world.

Here, I highlight some beautiful pieces of art sent to me by a fellow fly anger from New Zealand. The artist certainly isn’t someone as well known as Guy Harvey, but his art pieces are absolutely beautiful, down to the little touches on the scales of fishes he draws. Aren’t they beautiful? In fact, they are some of the best I have ever seen, and I would certainly be proud to have these art on the T-Shrit that I wear or the posters at home!

And look at the flies that accompany the pictures. These flies are pieces of art themselves. I don’t know about you, but if I were the fish, I certainly won’t be able to resist one of these flies!

Anglers are a passionate lot, aren’t they? Enjoy!
